Round robin 2020: what did we learn?

In 2020 the Diagnostics Working Group copmleted a "round robin" inter-laboratory quality control study. Read our summary of findings here.

A Global Epidemic

The fungal disease chytridiomycosis has caused catastrophic declines in amphibian populations worldwide. Batrachochytrium salamandrivorans

(Bsal), which causes salamander chytridiomycosis, threatens to devastate salamander species in North America.

Responding to the Crisis

Reliable and accessible diagnostic tests are key to our understanding and response to this disease. The North American Bsal Task Force / Diagnostics Working Group is an international coordinated effort to develop and assess diagnostic tests for chytridiomycosis and other emerging infection diseases of amphibians.

QA/QC Program

The Diagnostics Working Group is helping laboratories refine their methodologies and assess the quality of their testing procedures through a new quality assurance / quality control program.
